Road Rage: Off the Road and Onto the Web
Angry with the driver that cut you off this morning? Wish you could vent? Now you can.
In today's San Francisco Chronicle, Michael Taylor reports on the growing popularity of a website that posts encounters people have with bad drivers on the road. Included in the posts is information about the type of vehicle, the license plate, time, date, and type of offense. People have been posting about anything from women driving while applying makeup to drivers attempting dangerous lane changes. Other drivers can comment on the offense and the website, which began in May, now has over 43,000 registered users who contribute their stories from all 50 states.

I think these websites may actually cause more harm than good. If you are driving and see a bad driver, will you always have a pen and paper ready to copy down the license? If not, then you have to look in your car for pen and paper all the while, trying to drive! Plus, you probably create a hazard in following the reckless driver to obtain his/her license plate in the first place. All this just so you can vent online? it just doesn't make sense to me. Plus, the website plans to add a photo and video section as well so people can upload images of the reckless drivers! I know i can take a picture and drive at the same time!
